Trainyard is the development outlet of Nawsher A. Noor. That’s me. This site is a collection of development thinking, effort, and work that represents the problem solving, simple solutions, and cost-effective results I’ve produced and delivered for my employers and clients around the world. This site is also where I talk about things that interest me in my field of work.
Nawsher is an insightful, results-driven IT professional with more than three years of experience directing mobile and web development. He currently leads the technology team of CellBazaar (a USA based company partnered with Grameenphone) which has introduced a mobile phone based electronic marketplace for developing countries. It is a phone-based equivalent of newspaper classified advertisements.
In 2008, CellBazaar won GSMA’s Global Mobile Award for the “Best Use of Mobile for Social and Economic Development” and Asian Telecom’s Innovation of the Year Award. The service also received the Tech Museum Award 2007 for “Applying Technology to Benefit Humanity”. Other awards include Manthan Awards 2008 and MIT Ideas 2005.
Nawsher led the development and implementation of four synchronized platforms – SMS, Mobile (WAP), Web, and Voice (IVR) of CellBazaar. He is also instrumental in establishing communication protocol with Mobile Network Operator’s SMSC, WAP and Web Gateways, setting up Web/Database Servers, and implementing Remote O&M system. He had collaborated with consultants from Microsoft and e2D USA in database troubleshooting, and coordinated mobile development with offshore consultant from Lucent Technologies. Nawsher played the key role as liaison with technology partners – Grameenphone (MNO), BracNet (Leading Corporate Intranet service provider) , Thakral Information Systems (IBM partner in Bangladesh), and PyxisNet (Denmark-Bangladesh joint venture) – on solution architecture and infrastructure setup. He had hand selected employees from technology department to build Development and Maintenance Team, who are charged with application and database enhancement, analyzing all critical systems, monitoring server vulnerabilities, and implementing appropriate solutions.
Nawsher is an outstanding project and program leader; able to coordinate and direct all phases of project-based efforts while managing, motivating, guiding teams. He is a valued contributor who performs confidently and effectively under pressure, manage deadlines and thrives on challenge.
He is experienced in building dynamic mobile/web applications, and deploying efficient media streaming solution. His implementation experience include WISA (Windows, IIS, SQL Server, ASP.NET) solution stack and cloud computing (Amazon Web Services). He works with newest technologies to ensure usability, scalability & minimizing business cost.
His past projects include Online Exchange Portal, SMS Chat, Tourism Site, PC-to-PC Messaging, Linux Web Server and Bangla Optical Character Recognition (Research). Also co-founded nth-Theme, a startup that built Web and SMS applications.
